The National Zoological Department of Sri Lanka has received a jaguar male of the Panthera species from the Best Zoo in the Netherlands.
Sources say that Dehiwala Zoo received this animal under an animal exchange scheme.
Sources also say that the jaguar animal is currently in the quarantine centre, and once it is acclimatized to the appropriate environment, it will be transferred to the place where the black jaguar is currently in the zoo and the people will be made to see the jaguar as a family. (Neth Gossip)
