Samantha Power, head of the US Agency for International Development, says that steps will be taken to provide an additional 40 million US dollars in aid to Sri Lanka in order to facilitate the farmers.
She mentioned this in a discussion held after meeting the farmers of Ja Ala, Ekala area.
It is stated that the purpose of the American representative’s visit is to find out about the problems faced by the farmers due to the economic crisis and how America can provide support for it.
