Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake has issued a gazette notice making several services essential services as per the instructions of the President.
Accordingly, all services related to the supply of electricity, services related to the supply or distribution of petroleum products and fuel, and services including patient maintenance in hospitals, nursing homes, dispensaries and other similar institutions have been made essential services.
