President Joe Biden has decided to appoint a woman as the head of the US Navy. Admiral Lisa Franchetti has been proposed for the position.
She has served as the Chief of the 6th Fleet of the US Navy and has also served as the Chief of the US Naval Forces in South Korea.
This nomination made by the US President must be approved by the US Senate. If confirmed by the Senate, Admiral Lisa Fanchetti will become the first woman to serve as the head of the US Defense Forces. (Reuters)
