A discussion with the representatives of the World Bank on the future development plans and policies of Sri Lanka has been held under the leadership of the President’s Senior Adviser on National Security and Chief of Presidential Staff Sagala Ratnayake, State Minister for Finance Shehan Semasinghe, State Minister for Investment Promotion Dilum Amunugama.
The President’s Media Division stated that in this discussion held with the delegation including the World Bank Director for Sri Lanka, Faris Hadad-Zervos, the country’s future development plans and policies were discussed at length.
Improving public financial supervision and debt management, improving tax administration policy, reducing sovereign financial sector involvement and systemic risks, improving energy sector performance and reducing carbon emissions, reducing policy uncertainty and increasing the competitiveness of the economy, Restructuring public enterprises, implementing private capital and thereby creating competition in the broadband market, strengthening social security institutions and targeting distribution systems have also been discussed here.
