The National Vesak Day celebration is scheduled to be held at Sri Ratanasiri Piriven Temple in Chilaw. This year, Vesak week is from May 2nd to May 8th.
Somarathne Vidanapathirana, Secretary of the Ministry of Buddha Sasana, Religious Affairs and Cultural Affairs said that many religious programs have been organized throughout the island on the occasion of the Vesak week.
