The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court has ordered another case against Shashi Weerawansa, the wife of former minister Wimal Weerawansa, to be called for a hearing on February 24.
It is stated that the Criminal Investigation Department has filed this case alleging that an offence has been committed under the Immigration and Emigration Act by submitting an application containing false information about the date of birth to the Controller of Immigration and Emigration in order to obtain a diplomatic passport.
It is stated that this order was given when this case was summoned before the Colombo Chief Magistrate yesterday (18).
