President Secretary Saman Ekanayake has given instructions to appoint a committee to find out the problems that have arisen in connection with the water sport of white water rafting, which is a world-renowned sport centred around the Kitulgala area due to the Broadlands Hydropower Project.
It is said that these instructions were given in the discussion held at the President’s office the day before yesterday (23) afternoon.
The President’s Media Division stated that the President’s Secretary also advised that this committee, which will be appointed consisting of officials from the Ministry of Tourism and line agencies, conduct a field investigation on the issues presented in connection with it and give a report within two weeks.
