The collapse of a minor suspension bridge in the Indian state of Gujarat has resulted in 130 deaths, according to the Times of India website, which cited the Indian police.
Thus, the 230-meter-long passenger bridge over the Machuchu river in the city of Morbi collapsed. It is also said that there were more than 400 people on the bridge when it collapsed.
Officials say that this collapsed because there were too many people on the bridge. It is reported that the 100-year-old bridge was completely renovated and handed over to the public four days before the bridge collapsed.
Gujarat is the home state of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is also said that Modi is currently in Gujarat for a three-day visit.
