The Hettipola Police have started investigations regarding an incident where a person left a live grenade manufactured in a foreign country in front of the house of Sri Lanka Kabaddi Federation President Mr Anura Dharmaratne in the Dolahamuna area of Hettipola.
According to a complaint he made to the Hettipola police yesterday afternoon (26) that there was a bomb parked in front of his car, and the police went there and seized the bomb. The police suspect that someone has done it to intimidate the chairman due to some personal grudge.
He has complained to the police that he is ready to contest for the chairmanship of the Sri Lanka Kabaddi Federation again and that this may have been done by someone who was offended by it to scare him. So far, no one has been arrested in connection with the incident. (Lankadeepa)
