Mr. Ravindra Kumara, Deputy Director of Monaragala District Disaster Management Unit, told Sri Lanka that 28 families who were at risk due to a landslide in Badalkumbura Ankada Waradolawatta were immediately evacuated from the place.
He said that the place with lime rooms where the families who are at risk were living is also at risk of this landslide and so far the necessary dry food items have been provided to those families.
He further said that due to the current heavy rains, close attention has been paid to the places where such landslides may occur in Monaragala district.
