The current prime minister, Ranil Wickramasinghe, posted a few minutes back on his social media page that the 21st amendment to the constitution will be presented at the cabinet in the next meeting, which will significantly reduce the power of the executive presidency.
Further he has mentioned that the amendment is produced in order to keepup with the demands of the people.
Ranil Wickramasinghe became the Prime minister of Sri Lanka after the tensed situation provoked after the government supporters who had gathered to request the former prime minister to not to step down and from there started to beat all the peace protestors requesting Rajapakshe family ot step down.
