The Union of Government Veterinary Officers is on strike today (30) on sick leave.
Accordingly, its chairman Veterinarian Sisira Piyasiri stated that this symbolic trade union action had been initiated in protest against the government’s decision to import eggs by putting undue pressure on government officials.
He further stated that due to this professional action, services including the treatment of animals might collapse.
