The Department of Meteorology says that the turbulent nature of the lower atmosphere near Sri Lanka continues.
The department states that rain or thundershowers will occur in many parts of the island during the evening or at night.
Rains may also occur in the morning in the Northern, Western and North-Western provinces, and heavy rains of more than 75 mm may occur in some places in the Northern, North-Central, Uva and Eastern provinces.
The Department of Meteorology requests that people take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
