The Department of Meteorology says that some rains may occur in Eastern, Uva and North Central Provinces and in Mullaitivu District.
The department stated that rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the evening or night in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
In the rest of the island, there is mainly rainless weather.
The Department of Meteorology urges individuals to take the required precautions to reduce the risks brought on by storm-related lightning and transient high winds.
