The Department of Meteorology says that the sky may remain heavy with clouds and cold weather may prevail in many areas across the island.
In Uva and Eastern Provinces and in Hambantota and Polonnaruwa Districts, there will be rain or thunder from time to time and some places will receive mm. The department mentioned that heavy rains of more than 75 degrees are also possible.
There is a possibility of rain or thundershowers at other places during the evening or night.
The Department of Meteorology urges that individuals take the required precautions to reduce the risks posed by thunderstorms’ transient high winds and lightning.
