The Department of Meteorology announces that rain or thundershowers may occur from time to time in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces and heavy rains of more than 50 mm may occur in some places.
The announcement also states that rain or thundershowers may occur in the rest of the island in the evening or at night.
The announcement further states that there may be rain in the morning in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces.
