The Mineral Oil Distributors Association says that there is a risk of fuel shortage due to the suspension of accounting of money deposited in the People’s Bank by the distributors of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation petrol stations from midnight the day before yesterday (14).

The association said that despite the money being paid, the separators have not been able to get fuel and the president of the People’s Bank and the governing authority of the Petroleum Corporation have been informed about this situation and are working to find a solution.

The distributors also say that the Sabaragamuwa regional manager of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has informed the distributors that fuel will not be issued to the distributors who deposit money into the accounts of the People’s Bank. (Lankadeepa)
