Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapaksa says that the 22nd Constitution Amendment Bill, which was passed by a majority vote, will become the 21st Amendment of the Constitution.
Accordingly, he said that the new constitutional amendment should be called the 21st amendment and not the 22nd amendment.
Earlier, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya tabled another amendment as the 21st amendment and due to that the proposal presented by the government was named as the 22nd amendment.
