Three individuals allegedly broke open a safe at a rural bank in Koralaima, Moragahahena, and fled with a stock of gold jewellery, according to the Police.

The suspects are reported to have entered the bank premises at around 1:00 a.m. today (23).

After allegedly restraining the security officers on duty, they gained access to the building through a bathroom window located at the rear of the premises.

Police stated that the suspects subsequently forced open the bank’s safe, stole the gold jewellery stored inside, and fled the scene.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident so far, said police.

Police have launched further investigations to identify and apprehend the suspects.
