After winning the toss of the match, the Sri Lankan team decided to bat first and at the end of 48 overs, they managed to score only 213 runs. Dhananjaya de Silva, who played a valuable innings for the Sri Lankan team, scored 93 runs from 111 balls and his innings included 2 sixes and 8 fours.
