At the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, this year Prasanna Withanage won the JISEOK Award, which is given only to the films of veteran directors of Asian cinema. He has won this award for the movie “Paradise” directed by him in Malayalam language.
Ten films by great directors from Indonesia, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, Japan, Philippines, Bangladesh, and Cambodia were selected to compete for this award.
The film Paradise represented both Sri Lanka and India at this award ceremony and this film starred the popular stars of Malayalam cinema Darshana Rajendran, and Roshan Mathew along with veteran actors Mahendra Perera and Shyam Fernando.
