Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for the third time. The swearing-in occurred in a special ceremony in front of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Presidential Palace of India. The swearing-in took place in the presence of Indian President Draupadi Murmu. The swearing-in ceremony began at 7.15 pm New Delhi time.

Modi’s swearing-in was followed by the swearing-in of seventy-two members of his new coalition government. Out of those seventy-two, 30 are cabinet ministers. A group of 8,000 guests including state leaders of neighbouring regional countries, politicians, diplomats, Indian actors and actresses participated in this swearing-in ceremony which was held in a very solemn manner.

Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan and Anil Kapoor were among the Indian actors and actresses who participated in the swearing-in ceremony. Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Maldives President Mohamed Muisu and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were among the leaders of the neighbouring regional countries who participated in the event.
