Masoud Pezeshkian, a heart surgeon, won the final second round of Iran’s presidential election. Iran’s presidential election was held between Masoud Pezeshkian and Saeed Jalili, who won the most votes in the first round.

According to Iranian media, Jalili received 13.5 million votes and Masoud Pezeshkian 16.3 million. An early presidential election was held in Iran because Ibrahim Raisi, who served as the Iranian president, died in a plane crash last May. (AFP)
