The four-day cricket match between the Jaffna team and the Colombo team at the Pallekele Stadium in Kandy under the National Super League cricket tournament ended without a win yesterday (05).

The Jaffna team, who batted first in this match which was interrupted by rain on the first day, scored 199 runs for the first innings and the Colombo team scored 289 runs in reply.

The Jaffna team started their second innings behind by 90 runs and scored 229 runs with a loss of 8 wickets at the end of the match.

At that time the Jaffna team was leading by 139 runs Avishka Tharindu scored 50 runs and Lahiru Madhusankha scored 43 runs for the Jaffna team in the second innings.

At the end of the match, Kavindu Pathiratne scored 27 runs unbeaten and Dilum Sudhira scored 17 runs unbeaten. Nuwan Pradeep who crippled the Jaffna team took three wickets and Tharindu Ratnayake and Kasun Rajitha took two wickets each. Meanwhile, the match between the Dambulla and Kandy teams, which was scheduled to be held simultaneously, was abandoned due to bad weather conditions.
