In line with the government’s ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ national programme, 1000 schools renovation project was initiated on 20th February 2025 with the active involvement of the Sri Lanka Army.
On the directives of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, approximately 9,000 Army personnel have extended their assistance and technical expertise for the success of initiative and 185 schools island wide have been successfully cleaned and renovated by 02nd March 2025.
The project includes repairing damaged boundary fences, refurbishing roofs, fixing broken desks and chairs, and conducting comprehensive cleaning efforts. Sri Lanka Army also received the substantial assistance for the project from school teachers, students, and parents.
The renovation drive continues further with the assistance of the Sri Lanka Army and civil community.
