The Central Bank of Sri Lanka says that it is expected that the facility provided by the International Monetary Fund will be received in the first half of 2023.

Accordingly, the central bank states that significant progress has been made in the discussions with the creditors of Sri Lanka in presenting the monetary and financial sector policies for 2023 and beyond.

The Sri Lankan economy is predicted to contract by 8.0% in 2022, and it is expected that the economy will gradually recover from the second half of 2023 and the growth rate will continue thereafter.
