Electricity and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera says that the revision of fees for rooftop solar systems has been approved.
Accordingly, instead of the previous two-tier tariff system of Rs.22 and Rs.15.50, a fixed tariff of Rs.37 for systems below 500KW and a fixed tariff of Rs.34.50 for systems above 500KW has been allowed.
The minister further says that these new rates will be given for 20 years for those installing solar power systems on the roof.
