The Sri Lanka Association of Animal Production (SLAAP) says that the price of a local egg in the market has risen again. Ajith Gunasekara, president of the association said that due to the increase in VAT, an additional value of 09 rupees will be added to the price of an egg.
The association further mentions that despite requests to the government to appoint a price regulation committee to prevent the rise in the price of eggs, no action has been taken by the government so far.
