President Ranil Wickramasinghe says that the unlimited industrialization of developed countries is the primary cause of climate change and the developing countries have to suffer its consequences.

Addressing the COP 27 Climate Change Conference, the President stated that the problems faced by developing countries have worsened due to a lack of adequate funds and that these countries are engaged in a double battle for economic development while protecting the living conditions of the people.

Therefore, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has mentioned that it is essential that the developed countries fulfil their pledge in Glasgow by doubling their funds to compensate for the loss and damage caused to the developing countries.
