The speaker’s office says that the appointment of members for the independent commissions will be done after the 8th of December.
According to the 21st constitutional amendment, it is stated that members are appointed for independent commissions.
Members are to be appointed under the approval of the Legislative Council for independent commissions including the Election Commission, Public Service Commission, National Police Commission, Human Rights Commission, Bribery or Corruption Investigation Commission, Finance Commission and Delimitation Commission.
