Bulathsinghala police said that the father who went to pour acid on his daughter’s head and the daughter who was seriously burnt due to the acid hit were taken to the hospital with burn injuries. The suspect is said to be a heavy drinker.
The police say that they have received information that he often comes drunk and harasses the daughter and the family. The 25-year-old daughter is a mother of two and the suspect is a 52-year-old.
The suspect is a labourer in a rubber factory in the Bulathsinghala area. The police suspect that a bottle of acid was stolen from the rubber factory. (Lankadeepa)
