Sagala Ratnayake, Senior Adviser to the President on National Security and Chief of the Presidential Staff, says that during the Sinhala Tamil New Year celebrations, the environment will be created for the peddlers to engage in their business in a way that does not disturb the people.
He mentioned this when he met the representatives of peddlers’ associations including the Colombo United Trade Union the day before yesterday afternoon (06) at the President’s Office.
The President’s Media Division further stated that the issue of a special identity card for the peddlers was also taken into account in consideration of the demands of the peddlers.
