The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has issued a statement saying that the workforce in the country has decreased.
The central bank says that the labour force, which was 8.54 million in 2022, has dropped to 8.40 million last year and the labour force participation rate, which is the ratio between the labour force and household population, has also dropped from 49.8% to 48.6% in 2023.
