The Central Environmental Authority says that the air quality has decreased in several areas due to external air currents passing through the country.
Central Environment Authority media spokesperson Ajith Weerasundara states that the air quality has decreased especially in Colombo, Jaffna, Mannar and Galle.
He mentioned that various types of air pollutants that come with the wind currents flowing through the island have affected the reduction of air quality.
Further, he said that the health risk due to this situation is minimal, however, people with lung-related diseases and diseases such as asthma should be careful and they should pay attention to the condition of the atmosphere.
