On the 20th, the Court of Appeal issued an order on the 20th, restraining the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute from taking any action regarding the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute based on the report with recommendations issued by the five-member committee chaired by the High Court Judge Ms Kusala Sarojani Weerawardena appointed by the Sports Minister.

The bench of Judges Sobitha Rajakaruna and Dhammika Ganepola, who considered a writ petition filed by Sri Lanka Cricket Board Chairman Shammi Silva and Secretary Mohan Silva, issued the order to the sports authorities led by Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe.

Additional Solicitor General President’s Attorney Mr Sumathi Dharmawardena, who appeared on behalf of the Attorney General, requested that the five-member committee report which was recently handed over to the Sports Minister be given to him at around 4:00 pm the previous day, so there was not enough time to study it and give instructions to the Sports Minister. The bench considered the submission and passed the order.
