A mayor of a city in western Mexico was murdered. The mayor was assassinated just hours after Mexico’s first woman became president. Yolanda Sánchez, the mayor of Kodia, was shot dead.
Yolanda’s assassination took place after Claudia Sheinbaum, who represented the ruling party, won the presidential election in Mexico. Sánchez has been serving as the mayor of Kodiya since 2021. She was shot while walking on a road. (NDTV)
